Rubein is a picturesque castle from the 12th century, situated on the outskirts of Merano, the traditional health resort and jewel of South Tyrol. At the end of the 19th century it was redesigned to provide a modern and attractive interior. Rubein Castle is among the most beautiful and homely castles in all of Europe.
The interiors are characterised by dignified and precious furnishings, which are lovingly tended by the present proprietors. The castle chapel provides a unique and beautifully atmospheric venue for celebrating nuptials.
Today the castle boasts six exclusive suites sleeping 2-6 persons, which
enclose a romantic courtyard. The holiday apartments are equipped with
rare antiques, paintings, and carpets. The splendid park exerts an irresistible
charm and invites you to linger for some indulgent relaxation. On hot
days guests have access to the swimming pool of the castle, where they
can soak up sun and leisure in a tasteful atmosphere.
What makes this wedding location so unique is perhaps the fact that you
leave your everyday existence behind you as you pass through the garden
gate, and lose yourself in a fairy-tale world of elves and goblins, dwarfs
and wizards, and of princes and princesses, a world that you thought long-perished.

Package II: Medieval Wedding at Schloss Friedberg

About History:
The area round Volders and Wattens was a historical ground since ever.
Here the Castle Friedberg is located - founded by the Earl Andechs and
first mentioned in a document in 1268.
The main impression is gothic, especially since the reconstruction in
1491 by the family of Fieger.
In 1699 the family Fieger was elevated to become Earls.

Paket III: Castle Melans - a piece of Biedermeier in the present

Melans was first mentioned in 1312 in the tax register of the Inntal.
Archduke Sigmund and Emperor Maximilian were counted among its holders.
According to local legend Emperor Maximilian stayed there to go hunting
in the surrounding forests and mountains of Gnadenwald and the Halltal.
In 1815 Felix Adam Riccabona von Reichenfels bought the whole property which had become unhabitable due to earthquakes. So he restored it from ground up and constructed the biedermeier-garden that still receives a lot of attention even today. Later, in 1890 a free-standing, neo-gothic chapel and an access balcony were added.
Melans is still inhabited by the Riccabona family and has been restored extensively over the last 20 years. At present it belongs to Baron Hans Peter Riccabona.
Biedermeier-garden, park and the picturesque buildings of castle Melans on a hill with a wonderful view over the Inntal offer a favoured setting for romantic wedding photos. Further more they are a unique scenery for film shootings. The holy trinity chapel, garden and park may be rented by arrangement also for weddings or other events.
